After-school programs and extracurricular activities provide a richer environment to help students learn and grow. At Taft Elementary, students have access to a variety of programs and activities to explore their interests.
3D Printing Club (4th – 6th grade)
The 3D Printing Club is an afterschool program that teaches students design solutions to real problems using modeling software and 3D printers. The club increases students’ technical and problem-solving skills, exposes them to STEM career possibilities, and reinforces math and science principles taught during the school day.
CYC Girls Club (3rd & 4th grade girls)
CYC Girls club is an afterschool program sponsored by Cincinnati Youth Collaborative. The club is led by trained adult volunteers that promote positive friendships and learning. The program offers a warm, positive environment where girls can learn, grow, and enhance their self-esteem.
Robotics Club (4th – 6th grade)
Robotics Club is an afterschool program that teaches students to build and program LEGO-based robots to complete tasks. Available to fourth through sixth grade students, this program will boost students' problem-solving skills, teamwork, creativity, and technical knowledge in an engaging, and collaborative way.
Do Right! Families (4th – 6th grade)
The Do Right! Families is a Health Gap afterschool program that educates students and their families on how to live healthy lifestyles by providing nutrition and physical activity education. Students and families participate in fun, educational activities after school that teach healthy eating and make exercise fun.
Whiz Kids (2nd grade)
Whiz Kids is a free afterschool tutoring program with an emphasis on reading. The program is a Greater Cincinnati tutoring program and is part of City Gospel Mission. The program consists of structured one-to-one tutoring through committed and trained adult volunteers.
