Taft Elementary is a Cincinnati Public Schools neighborhood
elementary school (PreK-8) with a population of nearly 340
students, located in the community of Mt. Auburn. We are
moving forward to create a school that truly believes that
all children can be successful. We are excited about the day
that we can all say, truthfully, that "NO CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND."

We are a Project GRAD school, and under that designation, our mathematics program is Move It Math (K-8). This program incorporates a hands-on approach to mathematics, with special emphasis on problem-solving skills, and higher-order
thinking skills. A MIM Facilitator in the building also assists staff in acquiring the necessary supplemental materials and operates a library of math resources.

Taft Elementary is pleased to be part of the Excellence in Science
Kit Program at Grades K-8. Science Kit activities are closely aligned to Ohio State K-12 Science Content Standards, and hands-on participation in exploratory, inquiry-based science learning is the focus of these efforts. We are proud with our efforts creating a more positive, safe, and caring learning environment that focuses on co-operative management and discipline. Consistency Management and Co-operative Discipline (CMCD) incorporates the use of many structures in the classroom to teach and model behaviors that promote self-monitoring of behavior and co-operative management of the classroom.
